A series of 5 activities for children 3-10 and their families based on the mindful Japanese practice of forest bathingAbout this Event
BreathChamps CIC brings FREE nature crafting into the beautiful surroundings of Stretford's Victoria Park.
Families learn how connecting with the natural world supports their breathing, wellbeing and creativity. Forest bathing is about spending time together noticing nature using all the senses. It creates calm, lowers stress and improves overall wellbeing.
We will be based in the community room adjacent to the lovely cafe and venture out into the park to gather natural items.
There are 5 events - you are welcome to come to more than one:
- 24th January 11.30am - Forest stones - decorating smooth stones or conkers to leave in the forest with words or pictures of kindness
- 7th February 11.30am -Forest Shakers - fill containers with nature items to shake/sounds that represent nature
- 21st February 11.30am - Forest puppets - cardboard animal cut outs decorated with natural objects which are then used to tell stories
- 7th March 11.30am - Forest wands - sticks with ribbons and other nature items, used as an aid to breathing exercises
- 21st March 11,30am -Forest gifts -Make a 'seed bomb' from clay and seeds that can be dried and then gently tossed or placed in outdoor spaces to grow wildflowers or native plants.
