The Landing Reserve is a very special place and we'd love to share an afternoon out here with you. Local volunteers have been trapping, weeding and planting to maintain a habitat that a rare bird - the moho pereru (Banded Rail) - might like to call home. The bonus is that other birds, bugs and butterflies are already calling this space home so let's make it super awesome for them too.No experience necessary, just come along and learn alongside us as we head out to clear some invasive plants (we'll show you which ones) and make space for natives to grow.
We'll provide all the tools you'll need, you are welcome to bring gardening gloves if you have them and we ask that you come dressed to work outdoors and recommend you wear long sleeves and long pants to reduce the risk of scratches or bites.
