About this Event
We are beyond delighted to be launching the first Nature & Wellbeing Art Gathering co-hosted by Rebuilding the Creative: Solidarity and Kinship through Art at Canopy Studios! This is a 3-hour art workshop that will take place at Canopy Studios in Calgary, Alberta, on December 16, 2025, from 4 pm to 7 pm. This is a free, beginner-friendly event for young people ages 18 - 35.
We are so excited to share this space with you! In an effort to support young artists, we will be providing a $25 artist stipend if you attend the event.
What You Can Expect:
We believe it is fun and healing to brush shoulders with fellow artists while discussing topics most important to us. Our intention is to gather, get cozy, and create art while reflecting on the themes of nature and wellbeing. We invite you to reflect on these discussion questions in preparation for the gathering:
- Do you share a love for nature and the more-than-human world?
- What does your relationship with nature look like for you?
- Have you experienced eco-anxiety or climate grief?
- Does art help you stay grounded in this chaotic world?
- What do you think about the role of art as a tool for activism ("artivism")?
Artists can expect a guided art exercise where they will be encouraged to reflect and respond to the prompts provided. Cady and Morgan will facilitate the workshop, with the support of guest speakers. Following the workshop, our intention is also to uplift you, young people and emerging artists, by spotlighting your art and sharing it on the Rebuilding the Creative: Solidarity and Kinship through Art website if you wish. Consent and photo release forms will be further explained. A more fulsome agenda will also be shared before the event.
