Throughout 2024 I will be hosting a series of Natural Ink making workshops throughout Scotland. Natural Inks are art materials derived from plant and vegetable extracts.
Did you know that Acrylic paint contains plastic? So every time you wash your brushes, you actually flush millions of micro-plastics down the drain :( I feel as artists we have a duty to limit our impact on the environment with our work - including eliminating any harmful art materials that contains chemical/toxic run off. The goal of my studio and my practice is to have as little impact on the environment at possible - which includes eliminating toxins/chemical run off when I wash my brushes. Natural Inks are a fantastic eco-friendly, non-toxic alternative to petroleum based inks.
The workshop will take place in the WASPS South Block space, a 3minute walk from the Briggait on the other side of the King St NCP Car Park. Snacks and refreshments are provided so please state any allergies beforehand in the booking form. There is NCP parking available (Which is cheaper to book through the app) or to do your bit for the planet why not come on public transport :)
