About this Event
After our successful Roots of the Heart Gathering in the summer we were asked to also consider a winter gathering. In the past we have always held our winter embrace and decided to bring our community gathering and this event together. To create a whole day of connecting, workshops, music and sharing.
This time of year is the time to come together in a beautiful space in Winter, to meet this dark time of year and find the deep resources it offers. This Winter Embrace is a space that holds us in this time of 'hug' which in ancient Norse meant the time of soul, in Old English there was Hige, Danish Hygge, Cluther in Irish, Cwtch in Welsh. This is the time of year we have always gathered around a fire, warm, cosy and connecting to the stars, moon and night sky. A time of everyday togetherness to be spontaneous, relax, listen, share, deepen into the winter time and join a session of poetry, original songs and music in a deeper connection to nature.
In this day together we will have time in community, sharing, connecting, meeting old friends and new people. It is also a chance to attend some nature workshops, have shared lunch together and attend an evening meal in the beautiful centre at Ham Green.
We are keeping the price as reasonable as we can at 40 pounds, this includes the gathering, workshops, evening meal and musical event and session.
Below is our theme song, written by Micheal, that is at the heart of this event Cluther (which is the Irish word that can be used to describe Hygge, the Hug).
