About this Event

Did you know that over 300 vertebrate species rely on tree hollows and more than a 1/3 of these species are endangered or critically endangered?

Join James Smith of fauNature to discover how we can support our native wildlife. This workshop is ideal for families, small groups or individuals.

PART 1 - Wildlife Hollows

Learn about the importance of tree hollows, how they form, the species that use them and what we can do to support these species in the absence of naturally occurring hollows. Presentation is approximately 45 mins.

PART 2 - Build Your Own Wildlife Box (optional)

You will be supported in building your own wildlife box (artificial hollow) to take home, for either parrots or possums. This workshop supplies one wildlife box kit per participant/group. All necessary materials are provided, so please bring a sense of adventure, enthusiasm and a commitment to assist your local wildlife.

Important info - Tickets and pricing:

PRESENTATION ONLY (APPROX 45 MINS): Select the free ticket option if you would like to attend the presentation to learn about our local hollow-dependent fauna but DO NOT wish to purchase and build a nest box.

IF YOU WISH TO BUILD A NEST BOX: Buy a ticket for the type of box you wish to build, this also includes admission for one person. One wildlife box kit and all materials are included.

Ticket prices vary depending on the type of box you choose to build.

Then book a free ticket for any additional people who will join you on the day (for example if two members of the same family* are coming or a friend is joining you, book one box and one free ticket).
