About this Event
Native tree ID in the winter months with Avellana Ecology
This walk in the SSSI and nature reserve of Leigh Woods will help you to confidently identify a wide variety of British native tree and shrub species by looking at their key features including winter buds, twigs, bark, size and shape. Ecologist Neill Talbot from Avellana Ecology will show you how surprisingly simple this can be when you know what to look for.
Neill will also talk about the uses of certain trees and the folklore behind them. Information and ID handouts will be provided to each person attending.
This event is suitable for adults and children of 12 yrs plus with a keen interest in nature.
Please note: This event is weather-dependent and for safety reasons we will not be able to continue in very heavy rain or high winds
