Transform Your Community Through Native Plants!

Join Clemson Extension for an immersive, hands-on workshop at Florence's Pye Branch Demonstration Park. Discover the essential skills of saving seeds for native plant propagation.

What You'll Experience:

  • Learn practical seed saving techniques based on specific plant species.
  • Help collect seeds to restore the flowering ecosystem of a local stormwater pond
  • Tag and document native plant species for open source records
  • Contribute to a seed preservation program that will propagate these native species throughout our region

Your participation makes a real difference! Each collection helps rebuild Florence's native ecosystem, supports local pollinators, and creates a more resilient environment for generations to come.

When: Saturday, September 27, 9am - 11:30 am

Where: Pye Branch Demonstration Park, Florence, SC

What to Bring: Reusable water bottle, comfortable shoes, sun protection, pants and long-sleeved shirts recommended, thick work gloves, and any bug repellent of your choosing.

Water and snacks will be provided throughout the morning.

Be part of the solution. Join us in restoring South Carolina's natural heritage, one plant at a time!

Target audience: Open to all ages for a fun family outing. Plant enthusiasts. Master Gardeners and Master Naturalists can receive 3 hours of continuing education service. We will also sign off on any students looking to receive community service hours.

Price per attendee: $10 per adult to help with future restoration programming. Children attend for free.

Recipients will receive a seed saving guide for future use.
