Native Plant Sale in support of children’s environmental education at Aldo Leopold Nature Center. In partnership with the Good Oak Ecological Services and MESBA (the Monona East Side Business Alliance), we are holding a native plant sale just in time for Earth Day!
Now through Wednesday, April 17th, order native plants and pick them up at the Aldo Leopold Nature Center from Saturday April 20th through Monday, April 22nd… Earth day. The native plants will be available as 2×2 plugs and are $5 each.

For Sunny, Dry Areas
Purple Prairie Clover (Dalea purpurea)
Butterfly Milkweed (Asclepias tuberosa)
Sand Coreopsis (Coreopsis lanceolata)
Prairie Dropseed (Sporobolus heterolepis)
For Sunny, Wet Areas
Marsh Milkweed (Asclepias incarnata)
Great Blue Lobelia (Lobelia siphilitica)
New England Aster (Aster novae-angliae)
Obedient Plant (Physostegia virginiana)
For Shady, Dry Areas
Jacob’s Ladder (Polemonium reptans)
Wild Columbine (Aquilegia canadensis)
Zig-Zag Goldenrod (Solidago flexicaulis)
Sprengell’s Sedge (Carex sprengelii)
Residential orders: Plants arrive as 2×2 plugs, $5 a piece. Pick up will be at Aldo Leopold Nature Center on
April 20 from 9-1p,
April 21 from 10-2p, and
April 22 from 9-4p.
Business orders: Plants are free of charge for Monona commercial spaces, with planting assistance, native plant garden signage, and social media recognition for your efforts. Planting assistance will be available on April 26 from 2-4p.
