Native Plant Nursery Tours

Journey through Oxbow's Native Plant Nursery and delve into the art and science of native plant propagation. Discover the unique challenges and opportunities faced by native plant nurseries and learn about our commitment to sustainably producing high quality, locally adapted, genetically diverse, and resilient ecological community members. Plus, uncover how you can support native plant nurseries, both at Oxbow and beyond!


Conservation Pothole Project Tour
Time: 11AM, 1PM, and 2PM
Walking Distance: 1 mile (umbrella's recomended for shade)
All ages

Join Oxbow’s conservation staff for a tour exploring the versatile uses of native plants across various landscapes and scales. We'll start by examining how native plants can enhance urban and suburban landscaping, then walk out to a larger-scale wetland restoration project in an agricultural setting. Along the way, we'll observe how wetland and woodland restoration creates wildlife habitats and appreciate the transformation of degraded agricultural land into a highly functional wetland ecosystem.

Garden Consultation: Utilizing Small Spaces for Native Habitat
Time: All day
Location: Farm Stand
Activity best suited for adults

Have a specific space in your yard that you are unsure what to do with and don’t know where to start? Visit with Oxbow’s Native Plant Nursery Manager to gain confidence with selecting native plants and ideas to incorporate them into your landscape. We will have displays of plants that work well in sunny to shady conditions. Don’t have a garden? Many native plants work well in containers too! We will also have a display of plants that work well for containers and can help you decide what would work best for your situation.
Conservation Consultation
Time: All day
Location: Farm Stand
Activity best suited for adults

Have questions about problem plants in your garden or local open spaces? Ask us! We'll help you identify them and provide tips on how to remove them, without using chemicals (in most cases).
Guided Native Plant Print Making
Time: 11AM, 1PM, and 2PM
Location: Music Field
All ages

Engage your senses with our native flora by participating in a community leaf print art project! Using native berries collected at Oxbow, we'll create our own paint pigments. You'll have a variety of native plant leaves in different shapes and sizes to stamp on our community poster, which will be displayed at Oxbow. Our nursery staff will lead discussions about the plants, their cultural and ecological significance, answer questions, and encourage you to see past the 'wall of green' and connect with the more-than-human world.

Card only, please!

Find fresh Certified Organic and Salmon Safe veggies, native plants, and partner products from local farm friends!

Sandwiches, wraps, salads, cookies and an assortment of cold and hot drinks will be available for purchase at our outdoor kitchen. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options are available.

What to Wear and Bring
The terrain around Oxbow can be uneven; we recommend wearing sturdy shoes or boots. Dress for the weather and be prepared to walk and explore! For food, beverage, and Farm Stand purchases, we accept all major credit cards.

Come camera-ready for all the opportunities to document your memories at Oxbow and use the gorgeous backdrop scenery of an organic farm in the Snoqualmie Valley.

Health & Safety

  • Smoking, vaping, and alcohol are prohibited.
  • With the exception of service animals, dogs are not permitted anywhere on Oxbow grounds, including in the parking area. Please leave your furry friends at home!
  • Observe all posted signage indicating which areas are for visitors. If you come across an unmarked area, please, do not enter.
  • Do not enter tunnels or harvest anywhere unless invited to by Oxbow staff.
  • Be mindful that we have Honey Buckets for visitor bathroom use. We will have hand washing stations and hand sanitizer available.
