Join horticulturist Bob Henrickson from the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum for a tour of Aldersgate Gardens at Aldersgate United Methodist Church.The gardens includes a 1,000 sq foot rain garden, extensive native prairie plantings, a nice variety of woody plants and a nature-based playground with an 11-foot, 1.5-ton section of ash trunk climbing structure. As more and more homeowners begin to investigate non-traditional options to turf grass, we'll explore how Aldersgate is transforming their traditional lawn to something that's more environmentally sustainable and beneficial for pollinators and other wildlife.
