Sheridan MacKnight
Eric and Barbara Dobkin Native Artist Fellow
Sheridan MacKnight (White Earth Chippewa, Hunkpapa Lakota) is a painter and jeweler based in Santa Fe and Los Angeles. Influenced by “Studio Style”—a style of painting characterized by flat, two-dimensional imagery and subdued colors that depict traditional scenes of Indigenous life and culture—Macknight’s work reflects a contemporary Native American perspective and tells a story of resilience and grace. While in residence at SAR, MacKnight’s work focused on illustrations for an English/Lakota children’s book.
This event will be held in person at SAR and livestreamed on SAR’s YouTube channel.
