About this Event
Come out and join us for our annual NAHM Harvest Festival! Join the Indigenous Community at Virginia Tech as we conclude Native American Heritage Month with our annual Harvest Festival on November 15th! This celebration honors the Peoples who steward the Longleaf Pines by featuring cultural dishes that represent the traditional and contemporary Southeastern Woodland Lumbee Peoples of the Dark Water. Led by Lumbee Chef René Locklear White (retired Lt. Col.), we will journey through Lumbee food traditions—past, present, and future. Experience a day filled with rich dishes, storytelling, presentations, and workshops at the Indigenous Community Garden at Virginia Tech (ICG) as we celebrate community, culture, and the continued work toward Indigenous food sovereignty. The event is free and open to the public!
