About this Event
⫷⫸ Native American Flute Circle ⫷⫸
Discover the art of “praying” the Native American flute and sharing your heart with the community.
If you’ve felt a calling to learn the Native American flute, we invite you to join this new offering at Aura Holistic & Metaphysical Center in Aurora.
In this class, you’ll learn the basic scale, various breath techniques, and embellishments to help you express the beautiful melodies that lie within. The Native American flute is traditionally played in the moment, channeling Spirit, which requires building a deeper connection with the instrument.
As the saying goes, “The more people play the flute, the quicker the Earth will heal.” Our gatherings aim to honor this belief, welcoming everyone who feels drawn to this experience. The CommUNITY Flute Circle will be an ongoing gathering where we learn, practice, and share the songs in our hearts.
The Native American flute is not only a healing instrument for listeners but also for those who play it. We invite you to take these meaningful steps toward self-healing and, in turn, contribute to the healing of Mother Earth.
Beginners are welcome. No prior experience is necessary. Flutes will be available for you to try, but if you have your own, please bring it along.
If you’re looking to purchase your own flute, Highspirits.com is a good source.
Facilitator's Bio:
Treya Jaholkowska began her journey with the Native American flute about 20 years ago, inspired by the sweet melodies of Carlos Nakai and other Native American flute players. She dreamt of owning and learning to play one. Miraculously, not long after, she was gifted a flute by a stranger who also taught her to play. It was her teacher’s mission to bring together those drawn to this instrument and create a Flute Circle. Treya has continued this legacy, inspiring others to play—or “pray”—the flute.
