Poet Gerald Vizenor’s screenplay draws on trickster myths common to many Indian tribes to create a contemporary satire which dispels many Hollywood stereotypes. The story involves trickster Harold (Charlie Hill) and his scheme to obtain corporate funding for a chain of coffeehouses featuring reservation-grown “pinch bean” coffee. (33 min)
ON AND OFF THE RES WITH CHARLIE HILL (1999) Comedian Charlie Hill talks about his life and career, with performance clips and commentary from Will Rogers, Steve Allen, Dick Gregory, Floyd Westerman, and other guests. (57 min)
