About this Event
The Desert Community Orchestra will perform Nations, Narratives, and Cultures concert at Burrough High School Parker Performing Arts Center. The concert will present powerful musical voices of Europe and the Americas, highlighting nation-building and cultural identity through iconic orchestral works. Featured is Schubert’s Symphony in B minor, The Unfinished Symphony, Danzón No. 2 by Mexican composer Arturo Márquez, a celebrated symbol of Mexican music and culture. Sibelius’s Finlandia, Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite, and Brahms’s Hungarian Dance No. 5.
Andrew Loveland, from Los Angeles California, will be conducting. He is a Guatemalan-American cellist and conductor from Los Angeles, CA. With over ten years of performing and teaching experience, Mr. Loveland brings a unique experience to his interpretations and performances on the podium.
Concert general admission is $10, student/military $5, under 7 years and military inuniform free. Tickets will be available on eventbrite.com, at Red Rock Books, and at the door.
