Coastal New England is the inspiration for “Connected Land and Sea,” recognizing the Copley Society of Art’s legacy in the region and reflecting the important intersections between the land and the sea. The organization, founded in 1879, has welcomed the artwork of many notable marine artists in previous National Marine Exhibitions, including John Stobart and the now retired J. Russell Jinishian.
Copley is honored to welcome the renowned marine artist Donald Demers as the jurist for the 2021 National Marine Art exhibition. With more than 450 submissions, Demers selections include a wide range of thematic interpretations from artists across the United States including Seattle, Venice, Santa Fe and Illinois.
