No one turned away for lack of funds.
On this National Rest Day for Black Women, we set our intention to create a nurturing and empowering space for all Black women, femmes, and non-binary individuals. Recognizing the historical and systemic challenges faced by Black women, we aim to provide:
A Safe Haven: A welcoming environment where participants feel secure and free to express themselves and their needs.
A Celebration of Resilience: Honoring the strength and perseverance of our ancestors, including Harriet Tubman, as we embrace the necessity of rest in our own journeys.
Community Connection:Fostering relationships and building solidarity among attendees, encouraging openness and understanding.
Healing and Restoration: Facilitating experiences that allow participants to disengage from societal pressures and connect with their inner selves through rest, reflection, and self-care.
Actionable Practices: Empowering participants to incorporate rest into their daily lives as both a personal and collective act of resilience and self-love.
Together, we arm that rest is not a luxury but a fundamental right, a form of resistance, and a pathway to healing. Let us honor our bodies, recharge our spirits, and uplift one another on this journey towards renewed strength and wellness.
