National Public Lands Day (NPLD) is the nation’s largest single-day volunteer event for public lands, held each year on the fourth Saturday in September. Public lands include national parks, forests, monuments, wildlife refuges, grasslands, marine sanctuaries, lakes, and state, county, and city parks—spaces managed by public agencies or nonprofits and open to all.
NPLD is more than a day of service—it’s a chance to give back, build community, and enjoy the public lands that support our health, environment, and well-being.
Here in Oshtemo we'll be focusing on improving our Township Park's popular Disc Golf Course. Projects include (but are not limited to) removing invasive species and brush from along the trails, installing new paver bases for the improved trash system, replacing wooden infrastructure, and more.
We have some hand-tools available for use, but you are more than welcome to bring your own.
We'll break for lunch at noon and use the rest of the time to socialize/network.
Every participant will receive a raffle ticket to participate in a drawing for some swag donated by supporters, including Wolf Pack Discs shirts the company donated in support of the event. (Our greatest thanks to them!)
If you would like to donate food, swag, or a large group effort email us at [email protected]! It takes a village!
More details on food, "thank you gifts" and major participants will be added as the event date approaches. Stay Tuned!
