Immerse yourself in the spirit of National Indigenous Peoples Day as your Toronto Zoo, in collaboration with our esteemed partners at Native Child and Family Services, presents a day of cultural recognition and celebration.
The festivities will commence with a powerful and meaningful Smudge Ceremony, serving as a poignant opening to the day's events. From 9:15am to 9:30am, join us as we honor Indigenous traditions and seek blessings for a day filled with appreciation and unity.
As the day unfolds, from 10:00am to 12:00pm, immerse yourself in a multitude of enriching experiences at the First Nations Art Garden. Engage in enlightening teachings that offer valuable insights into Indigenous culture, participate in educational activities that foster understanding, and explore touch tables that showcase the rich diversity and artistry of Indigenous traditions.
June marks National Indigenous History Month, and the Toronto Zoo joins in recognizing the rich history, heritage, resilience, and diversity of First Nations, Inuit, and Metis People across Canada. In commemoration of National Indigenous History the Toronto Zoo extends complimentary admission to all Indigenous Peoples.
For entry, please proceed directly to the Zoo’s admission gates. No online ticket purchase required.
