Dr. Hannah Mesouani will kick off the evening with a welcoming message and a blessing. Once folks have gotten their food, ISU MFA Directing candidate Alejandra Luna will give an introduction to Coalescence Theatre Project's upcoming production of So You Think You Can Stay? (America's Most Talked About Game Show) by playwright Ariel Cipolla (November 15-16 at the Normal Theater). Dr. Maura Toro-Morn will close the evening's program with her wisdom.
We'll have a first come, first serve, tasting of dishes from Bloomington-Normal's newest African food trailer, Maison & PJ, available for a suggested donation of $10.
Folks are encouraged to grab a bite to eat, connect with your neighbors, and explore stories of im/migration in our Making A Home exhibit gallery.
"Sharing the diverse stories of the people of McLean County is central to our mission," says Museum Executive Director Julie Emig. "Hosting events like this, in collaboration with our community partners, is vital to not only meeting our mission, but to ensuring all people in McLean County know that they are integral threads that weave the rich tapestry that tells the story of who we are as a community. In a time when folks may doubt that they are wanted and appreciated here, it makes a powerful statement to gather and celebrate."
