We are honoured to announce that on Saturday, 2nd November Freemasons from the United Grand Lodge of England will, for the first time, unite in a National Act of Remembrance in the Freemasons Garden at the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas. This momentous gathering will see Freemasons from across the country coming together to pay tribute to those who have selflessly served our nation. The Province of Staffordshire will welcome distinguished representatives from both the Armed Forces and the United Grand Lodge of England, demonstrating our continued commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant. We warmly invite you, your Lodge Brethren, family and friends to join us in this significant event. Your presence will not only honour the memory of those who served but also reinforce our shared commitment to serving the wider community as Freemasons.
Coach travel from within County Durham is available to book, link below. The day will start at 10:00. Music will start at about 10:30 with a performance by the Poynton Royal British Legion Concert Band prior to the traditional service of remembrance, during which official wreaths will be laid. We encourage your Lodge to participate by laying a wreath and bringing your banner.
For those wishing to stay after the service an informal light lunch will be available for up to 300 guests, subject to advance reservations and a fee. Alternatively, there is a restaurant on site should you wish to make your own arrangements.
As this is a family-friendly event, we invite you to explore the National Memorial Arboretum after the service. You may also book a guided tour directly through the Arboretum’s website.
