About this Event

The EPSRC National Epitaxy Facility is holding an open day on the afternoon of Wednesday 8th May 2024 for undergraduate students interested in undertaking a PhD with us.

We have funded PhD studentships available based at the Facility's headquarters at the University of Sheffield. The studentships will be based on the research and development in the growth of compound semiconductor materials and devices, gaining expertise in MBE or MOVPE, and various device characterization techniques. The studentships will be best suited to candidates with a keen interest in semiconductor materials, devices and characterization techniques, and a solid background in semiconductor physics or engineering. Please take a look at our PhD studentships listing at FindAPhD for more information.

The National Epitaxy Facility is a Centre-of-Excellence for semiconductor epitaxy in the UK and is funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). The facility is home to 11 state-of-the-art epitaxial reactors and a wide-range of device characterization equipment, and currently supports research grants in excess of £150m in over 25 top Universities in the UK, as well as significant work with the UK semiconductor industry.

The open day is a great opportunity for students to find out more about the facility and the studentships we have available. For more information, please visit our website www.nationalepitaxyfacility.co.uk
