The Anti-violence Coalition of Leeds and Grenville invites you to a commemorative event in recognition of The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
We will gather on Friday December 6th from 2pm @ Wall Street United Church Brockville.
With special guests: Shout Sisters
The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women is a day commemorated in Canada each December 6, the anniversary of the 1989 École Polytechnique massacre, in which fourteen women were murdered and ten others injured in the name of "fighting feminism".
This year marks the 35th anniversary of the attack, and together we will reflect and commit to taking a stand against gender-based violence and acknowledge the ongoing crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and 2SLGBTQI+ people.
The presence of Leeds and Grenville community members is vital, as we also honour local victims past and present.
