Join us as people from all over South East Queensland come together to pray for our city, state and nation!
The theme for this year is Be Still and Know that I am God.
As we enter into an election here in Queensland, it is critical that we gather at the seat of power in our state to pray for our nation.
The day will run from 10 am to 4 pm. Broken down into 6 x 1-hour sessions.
This year's National Day of Prayer emphasis will be different to previous years in that we will have more of a listening prayer focus. Rather than going to God and telling him what is on our heart to pray for, we will first be listening to what is on his heart and then pray. It's a very subtle but powerful difference.
The agenda:
10 am - Let us exalt his name together
11 am - There is Hope
12 pm -Praying for Our Leaders
1 pm - Prayer and Communion Service
2 pm - Pray for the Harvest and our Call as a nation
3 pm - Celebrating the King of Glory
4 pm - Close
Each session will be led by different prayer leaders from across the city.
We are limited on numbers to 230 during the day due to the size of the room. Feel free to come for an hour or the whole day.
Due to security arrangements with Parliament House, we will need to close off registrations by May 16. Attendees will need to go through security and provide photo ID to register on the day. We do need to provide a list of attendees prior to the day, hence the need to register
The cost of hiring the venue for the day is $1200. It sounds a lot, I know, but a little donation from each person attending will help us to not only cover the cost of the day but also go to the running of the National Day of Prayer nationally. You have the option of donating when you register, or there will be opportunities on the day as well.
The Brisbane Bible Reading Marathon will also be taking place from Friday 17 May at 6 pm to Monday 20 May at approx. 7 pm. This is an incredible opportunity for you to read the Bible out loud from covering to cover at the Speakers Corner outside Parliament House.
