About this Event
On Wednesday, December 1st the U.S. Supreme Court is scheduled to hear oral arguments in a Mississippi case that evaluates whether state laws that ban pre-viability abortions are unconstitutional or not. This comes right after the Supreme Court’s unwillingness to block SB 8 - the Texas Abortion Ban. This case threatens nearly 50 years of legal precedent set by Roe v. Wade guaranteeing a constitutional right to privacy extended to abortion rights.
We are mobilizing as part of a National Day of Action in Los Angeles on December 1st to demand nationwide access to legal abortion once and for all! We must keep the pressure on the courts to uphold Roe v. Wade. Just as the landmark decision of Roe v. Wade was passed due to a massive national movement pushing for legal rights to bodily autonomy and access to abortion services - we must continue showing up in the streets to fight for abortion rights and defend the protections set by Roe v. Wade.
