National Arboretum & Lichfield inc. Land Train - Sat 13 Sep 2025 -We begin our day at around 10.30am when we arrive at the 800 year old city of Lichfield. Home to Lichfield Cathedral, the Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum (He that wrote the first dictionary, but don't mention Aardvarks). You will have plenty of time to wander the independent boutiques or grab some lunch in this delightful little city.
At 1:30 we will take the 10 minute drive to the National Memorial Arboretum. The UK’s year-round Centre of Remembrance that celebrates and honours the men and women who have served our nation.
There are some 300 memorials here, set in 150 acres, so you will be pleased to know that we’ve included the 50 minute land train tour including commentary to show you a large proportion of the site’s fascinating memorials.
There is a café back in the Remembrance Centre where you can get a drink before we head home at 4.45 - 5pm
