Nate Manos is a bandleader who has a core of some of the best players on the Blues scene. He will end up headlining at Rosa’s Lounge, Blue Chicago!, Buddy Guy’s Legends or any number of places all over the city and beyond.
He is a player in demand by some of the top artists too. He can be seen as Musical Director or a key part of the bands for the likes of Shirley Johnson, Demetria Taylor, Mzz Reese Young, Luke Pytel, Sonia Astacio, Pete Galanis, Dave Herrero, Sheryl Youngblood, Stephen Hull, Laretha Weathersby, Nick Alexander, Giles Cory, Omar Coleman, Dan Carelli. The company he keeps certainly has some serious wow factor. He has been on the road locally, nationally, and internationally and leaves the people who come to the show with that feeling that you have just seen a true legend. Sonia Astacio, a prominent figure in the Chicago Blues scene, graces renowned venues such as Buddy Guy’s Legends, Blue Chicago, Kingston Mines, and Rosa’s Lounge. A Chicago native born to a Dominican American family, she discovered her passion for music through singing in church. Initially captivated by Jazz, Sonia's musical journey shifted after experiencing the Blues performances of Muddy Waters and The Rolling Stones. Infusing her Afro-Latina heritage, she brings a unique touch to Blues standards in Spanish. Leading The Sonia Astacio Band, she delivers a live performance that mirrors her Chicago upbringing as a black Latina.
