. . . . . . . . . .
NATALIE BROOKE is funk and rock brought to you by a powerful 4 piece from the DC area - female fronted with Natalie on keys, keytar and vocals and always backed by a stellar band. The music was once said to be the mashup of Rick James and Rush; a fiery blend of fast tempos, totally danceable grooves and some sloshy rock elements, too.
GORDON STERLING is a DC area based guitarist/singer who has played and toured extensively throughout the country. Gordon's effervescent energy and deeply introspective songwriting crafts waves of awareness around the lived experiences and perspectives of being Black in America.
CARLY HARVEY combines Blues, Jazz, Soul, and Indigenous American styles to produce a unique sound. She is the originator of the “Native Scat”—an improvisational fusion of a traditional Jazz scat with Native vocables. In addition to performing as a solo act, Carly is an entertaining and dynamic band leader. According to DC Music Review, “Carly is grace, confidence, originality, and the right amount of sexy swagger all at once. She commands the stage with her voice and presence and draws you in intensely. Then she seems to end each song with an infectious smile of pure gratitude that beams so brightly into the audience.”
CJ serves as lead singer of DC-based band OH HE DEAD who brings their funky, poppy rock vibes wherever they go. The close-knit crew is known for their contagious joy, and for putting on a hell of a live show as Johnson “maneuvers her powerful voice — a combination of Stevie Nicks and Tracy Chapman” (Kojo Nnamdi) in rhythm with the band’s “sublime instrumentation” (NPR) and “infectious and soulful sound” (Washington Post).
