About this Event
Introducing the first man in history to live off of a prize contest! His name is… Nasubi! (Meaning "eggplant" in Japanese.)
The rules are simple - he can only get necessary items like food and clothes through sweepstakes prize contests! He must take part in these via radio, phone call, magazines, and letters. When Nasubi earns 1 million yen worth of prizes from these sweepstakes, the challenge ends. Watch him struggle, starve, strip, and more! Notice how his face changes! Does he know this is broadcast live? Of course not! Take it away, Nasubi!
NASUBI is a theater show based on the true story of Hamatsu Tamaki, a Japanese comedian who took part in a 335 day isolation challenge for Japan's Susunu! Denpa Shōnen in 1998. Written by Lindsey Mae, this is the debut show of her theater company The Idiot Box.
