About this Event
This is a special event hosted in partnership with the CCNY Sustainability in the Urban Environment program. This immersive scientific lecture will include work by CCNY Professors Kyle C. McDonald and Nick Steiner of the CCNY Earth and Atmospheric Science and new data fresh from the orbiting observatory. The NASA-ISRO SAR (NISAR) Mission is measuing Earth’s changing ecosystems, dynamic surfaces, and ice masses and will provide information about biomass, natural hazards, sea level rise, and groundwater.
So, spend Tuesday evening with us down in the Marshak basement and step back in time to our vintage planetarium experience while learning about the future of Earth Observation via Satellite. Learn more about our planetarium here: CCNY Planetarium and more about visiting us here: Visiting Information.
There will be an hour of light refreshments and networking from 5-6 pm and then the lights will go out, doors will close, and we'll take off to low earth orbit at 6pm sharp. (And return safely to NYC by 7pm)
