NASA: For the benefit of all?

How has NASA changed under the Trump administration and what future exists for it in an increasingly uncertain world? Will NASA serve the public imagination for much longer or are its days numbered?
Having just resigned, after only 6 months, from his position at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center at the end of November, Dr Graeme Eddolls will highlight the recent attacks on NASA and wider science, offering an insider perspective of what it was like to operate as a scientist within the United States for the last 2 years. He will also seek to draw out his personal beliefs in the dangerous direction US science is heading in under an authoritarian government.
About the speaker:
Dr Graeme Eddolls obtained his PhD in Experimental Gravitational Wave Astrophysics from the University of Glasgow. He went on to work as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Glasgow, Syracuse University, in upstate New York, and NASA Goddard Space Flight Center just outside of Washington, DC. He previously worked as a civilian scientist in the UK defence sector for 3 years, a sector which he now campaigns against.
Attendance is free. No ticket is required. We operate on a first come first served basis. It's relatively rare that we fill up the function room, but please be aware that if things are looking busy, the earlier you get there the less chance there is of not getting in.
Although the event is free, we will be asking for donations at the end of the talk. Participants are under no obligation whatsoever to donate, however please rest assured that the money we collect doesn't end up in anyone's pocket - it is used to fund our overhead costs, and travel/accommodation for our speakers who come from further afield.
Accessibility: The Admiral Woods Bar now has a functioning lift which can take wheelchair users (or others who are unable to manage stairs) down to the function room. There is also a disabled toilet in the function room area.
