About this Event
Explore the art of glass storytelling! This class delves into the intricacies of conveying narratives, using molten glass, focusing on the use of enamels, and decals in the hotshop. Suitable for all skill levels, this professional development opportunity, invites participants to channel their creativity into a new glass genre.
What to Expect: No prior experience required. Just a dedication to the craft and a commitment to bringing imaginative narratives to life. Join us for an enriching exploration of Glass artistry. There will be demos in basic, blowing shapes and a hand sculpting demo. They will also be enameling and decal demos, and how to fire pieces in the hotshop. We will use the pieces we make and apply enamel, decals and paints to create imagery on the glass. Then we will pick them back up in the hot shot to fire and have another opportunity to add bits, or change the shape. I will provide the contact and resources to create your own enamel decals.
Eligibility: No experience required. Open to ages 14 and up.
Pick-up: The glass needs to cool down overnight, so the students will have to return to UrbanGlass once notified to pick up their work.
This is an in-person class taking place on-site at UrbanGlass. Health and safety guidelines will be emailed to you upon registration.
