Join us to learn how the NRWGC cleans graves, and gain first hand expereince in the techniques that gently clear away centuries of dirt from the monuments that mark the final resting places of Napoleonic veterans.
You'll be given a demonstration by NRWGC Chair, Dr Zack White, the charity's most experienced grave cleaner, who will explain how the charity came to adopt these methods, and why they are the best balance between cleaning and preserving these monuments, before carrying out your own supervised clean of a grave.
Please note: Sturdy footwear is essential. You will also need to wear clothes that are comfortable and which you do not mind getting dirty. Although the cleaning solutions used by the charity do not stain, you will become dirty over the course of the work.
The NRWGC will provide specialist equipment and cleaning solutions for this training, which is why donations are very welcome. Suggested amount: £25-30
