How close are we to Neanderthal people? The latest archaeological techniques can tell us.Find out about the people who looked and behaved just like us but were not us! We start with a guided walk at 12 midday to a nearby site with the earliest hearth evidence in Britain. This is followed be a one hour break.
We continue with a lavishly illustrated talk, including several short videos, lasting just over an hour. It introduces the very latest discoveries on the people who lived here around 400,000 years ago and the last Neanderthals from Gibralter. Includes a chance to handle original objects from this period and replica skulls.
This event finishes about 3.15pm.

- Does not include admission to Anglo-Saxon Village
- This is partly an outdoor event so please wear sensible clothing
- The event is suitable for adults and/or accompanied young people 12 years and over; all must be paying participants.
- Please meet at the West Stow Visitor Centre 10 minutes before session start time.
-This event will go ahead in most weather conditions apart from extreme wind and/or rain (introduction inside).
