Hello Nanaimo Mamas! Welcome.
My name is Jessica Mackay and I am a local Registered Clinical Counsellor... also a new Mama!
I work as a mental health professional in our community, offering individual, family and relationship counselling.
Since becoming a new mom myself, I have personally and professionally realized the need for connection of women. I am here to make this happen!
I am offering a gathering place of healing, community, conversation and connection for Mothers in Nanaimo.
It will be similar to group therapy in the way that we will hold space for one another, and receive support in return.
This event is brand new, and organic. It will be what it is needed to be. As time goes on, and the needs of the group are realized, it will adapt accordingly - I welcome feedback! This is our community, lets make it wonderful!
Come as you are, feel free to bring any children (under 2), and sit in a circle with women like yourself and a licensed therapist.
Expect to possibly reflect on your journey toward motherhood, your challenges and successes in this new chapter, and receive wisdom and support from Mamas going through the same things you are.
This event is not limited to first-time or NEW moms only.
Moving forward, if it is necessary, we will split events based on children's ages, but for now, regardless of your children(s)' age, please attend and connect.
We need each other more than we know.

RSVP is mandatory to attend and a fee of $15 will be charged on the day of the event.
Cash or e-transfer is accepted. The event will last 1 hour, and end with a guided meditation/ sound bath experience!
I have set this up as a recurring event for 4 weeks on Thursday at the same time.
As we learn and grow, alternate days and times may become available.
I look forward to connecting with all of you wonderful women soon.
