About this Event
This training session will teach participants how to recognise and respond to an opioid overdose using naloxone. Naloxone is a life-saving Medic*tion that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose and is vital for reducing harm in communities affected by drug use. The session will be delivered by our Advanced Recovery Practitioner, who has extensive experience in substance use recovery and harm reduction.
The training will cover:
- What naloxone is: An overview of naloxone, how it works, and why it's important in the fight against opioid overdoses.
- How to use naloxone: A step-by-step guide on how to administer naloxone safely and effectively in an emergency situation.
- Recognising an opioid overdose: Learn the signs of an opioid overdose and the importance of acting quickly.
- What to do in an overdose situation: Participants will be trained on how to respond to an overdose, including the use of naloxone and other harm-reduction techniques.
- Q&A: A chance to ask any questions and discuss best practices with our experienced practitioner.
