Nailed to Obscurity ist eine Melodic-Death-Doom-Metal-Band, die ursprünglich aus Esens in Ostfriesland stammt.
Die Band wurde 2005 von den beiden Gitarristen Jan-Ole Lamberti und Volker Dieken in Esens (Ostfriesland / Niedersachsen) gegründet. Nach kurzer Zeit und nur weniger erster Proben wurde der ursprüngliche Sänger Frank Busker durch Alexander Dirks ersetzt. Bereits wenige Zeit später stieß Jann Hillrichs zur Band und ersetzte Saverio Girolamo am Schlagzeug. Carsten Schorn, der den ursprünglichen Bassisten Wilko Fimmen ersetzte, stieg unmittelbar vor der Aufnahme des ersten Albums in die Band ein.
Im Jahr 2007 wurde das erste vollständige Album Abyss... im Soundlodge Studio von Jörg Uken produziert. 2012 trennte sich die Band vom langjährigen Sänger Alexander Dirks. Am 20. September 2013 wurde das Album Opaque bei Apostasy Records veröffentlicht, wo die Band seit dem Jahr unter Vertrag stand. Es das erste Album mit Raimund Ennenga als Sänger. Produziert wurde Opaque zusammen mit Lasse Lammert im LSD Studio; das Artwork stammt von Ben Borucki.
Am 3. Februar 2017 veröffentlichte die Band ihr Album King Delusion, das wie sein Vorgänger ebenfalls über Apostasy Records herausgebracht wurde. Produziert wurde es von V. Santura im Woodshed Studio in Landshut, Bayern. Das Artwork stammt vom argentinischen Maler und Künstler Santiago Caruso.
Im Jahr 2018 unterschrieb die Band einen Plattenvertrag mit Nuclear Blast und veröffentlichte dort am 11. Januar 2019 ihr bis dahin erfolgreichstes Album Black Frost, welches Platz 37 in den deutschen Albumcharts belegte. Produziert wurde das Album erneut von V. Santura und auch das Artwork wurde wieder von Santiago Caruso kreiert.

Hellenic Death Doom Metal from Athens
A massive comeback from the duet, which developed and pioneered the underground scene back in the day.
Jim AKA Mutilator was the first bassist and a founding member of the Greek black metal band Rotting Christ.
He was also the first bassist in Varathron. He appears on both Rotting Christ’s Thy Mighty Contract and Varathron’s His Majesty at the Swamp, two of Hellenic black metal’s most recognised and defining albums.
He also participated in the most impoportant black metal tour back in the day, which included Blasphemy, Immortal and Rotting Christ. He left Varathron in 1993, shortly after their full-length debut.
He did two more albums with Rotting Christ, Non Serviam and Triarchy of the Lost Lovers before leaving in 1996. However, he contributed lyrics to Rotting Christ all the way up until the Sleep of the Angels album.
In 1985, at the age of 14, he started a band called Black Church with the Tolis brothers. Two years later the trio went on to form Rotting Christ. George AKA Magus Wampyr Daoloth , The Magus or Morbid is a Greek musician and producer, mostly known for his work in the Greek black and death metal scenes.
His mostly known for his collaboration with bands such as Necromantia, Rotting Christ, Thou Art Lord and many more. He is credited for shaping the ”Hellenic sound” of black & death metal.
George Emmanuel, owner of Pentagram studios adds his talent with a 6-string majestic performance and his experience as an ex member of Rotting Christ. Fasten your seatbelts, the time has come, prepare yourself for the purest of Metal, the darkest of Magic and a hell of our Freedom.

Melodic Death Metal
Out of Denver, Colorado, from along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, Oak, Ash & Thorn arose with a collective passion for heavy metal and a shared pagan worldview.
Inspired by the likes of Týr, In Flames and Immortal, the band released their first album in 2018. May Every Altar Linger established a patented blend of anthemic riffs, athletic drumming and dueling clean vocals and death growls. In 2021, their EP To Gaze on Stars of Frost refined their sound further. Fabian Jiru of Trollfest handled production duties so masterfully that he was brought back for their next EP Eternal, which was released by Lost Future Records.
In 2024, Lost Future released Oak, Ash & Thorn’s second album. Our Grief is Thus is a monumental record. While loosely constructed as a concept record, the songs are tighter but also push beyond the band’s pagan roots and blackened death metal foundation by pulling from the galloping energy of crust punk, power metal’s soaring triumph and the unconventional melodies of progressive rock. Each one deals with grief in some fashion. “Dying Culture” is about the decay of tradition by way of urbanization and generational decline. “Light My Pyre” tackles betrayal and the dissolution of friendship. “Auras” deals with the erosion (and rejuvenation) of honor and identity in the face of withering familial ties.
Oak, Ash & Thorn recorded the album in Ft. Collins, Colorado, at the Blasting Room, which was founded by Black Flag and Descendents drummer Bill Stevenson. Our Grief is Thus marks the first time in the band’s history that they have walked out of a studio with an album fully representing their vision.
The end result is a powerful, unique sound that is fully their own, as melodic and memorable as it is heavy and crushing.
Now, Oak, Ash & Thorn are taking the next step in their journey by signing with Season of Mist. As they continue to tour in support of their latest album, the band will begin writing what’s bound to be a highly-anticipated follow-up.
