In 1987 Palestine, a nationwide rebellion breaks out in the fight for self-determination. Naila and The Uprising, a documentary directed by Julia Bacha, follows Naila Ayesh, a student organizer during the First Intifada, as she joins a network of women in Gaza.

At the end of the film screening, for those who would like to take part, we'll discuss the film where we can share our thoughts and discuss the key themes within it. We hope this will be an opportunity to learn more about the context of the films we screen and share our ideas on film and feminist theory.
