About Our Speakers
Julia Bowling -
Julia Bowling has approximately 25 years in the workers’ compensation industry and the entirety with Sedgwick. She is currently a Business Development Manager where she assists Ohio employers and trade organizations unpack the complexities of risk management, workers’ compensation, and most specifically the cost containment program known as Group Rating.
She serves on a variety of safety, membership, and entertainment committees for trade organizations including Allied Construction Industries, the Ohio Hotel and Lodging Association, the Home Builders’ Association Greater Cincinnati, and the Dayton Miami Valley Safety Council Steering Committee. She is a member of the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Women’s Council. In 2022 she was awarded the Ohio Hotel and Lodging Association Volunteer of the Year Award. Julia is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and resides in Cincinnati.
Shawn Phelps -

Prior to starting his own financial planning firm at Northwestern Mutual in 2010, Shawn worked in a variety of leadership roles in the banking industry. He graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in finance and summa cum laude with a master’s in business administration from Ashland University; he also holds a Trust and Estate Planning degree from Bowling Green University. When he's not working, Shawn enjoys spending time with his family and pursuing his hobbies, which include traveling, boating, and fine dining.
Scott Eickelberger -
Scott is a partner with Kincaid, Taylor & Geyer where he has been primarily involved in all aspects of estate planning, estate administration and real estate matters. This includes the drafting of Wills, various types of Trusts and Powers of Attorney. Scott handles commercial and complex litigation primarily revolving around real estate and will and trust disputes. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio (1988) and his law degree from the University of Dayton School of Law (1991). During law school, Scott clerked for the Licking County, Ohio Common Pleas Court. Scott is licensed in the State of Ohio and in the Southern District and Northern District Federal Courts of Ohio and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Scott has been the Solicitor for the Village of New Concord, Ohio since 1992 and has served as the President of both the Muskingum County, Ohio and Perry County, Ohio Bar Associations. Scott is a member of the American Land Title Association, the American Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association and the Muskingum and Perry County Bar Associations.
