We are excited to bring together the community for a week filled with enriching activities, cultural displays, and meaningful discussions.NAIDOC Week is an annual celebration held across Australia in July to recognise the history, culture, and achievements of First Nations peoples. It’s a time for all Australians to come together to learn about and celebrate the rich heritage and contributions of the First Nations people.

TUESDAY 9th JULY
11:30am: Welcome to Country and Smoking Procession. Location: Interchange Pavilion.
Jannawi Dance Clan will lead a smoking ceremony and welcome to country fusing traditional culture dance into a modern contemporary style.
12:00pm: Roving Musicians. Location: Interchange Pavilion and Locomotive Street.

12:30pm - 1:30pm: Lunchtime Workshop - Ethical Procurement with First Nations Businesses. Location: The Forum to the left of the CBA entrance
Hosted by Awesome Black's Travis De Vries, this workshop is designed to help you strategies your own best practices for engaging with new and existing First Nations suppliers. Unpack strategies for developing meaningful relationships, ensuring fair compensation, and fostering ethical diversity in procurement processes.
WEDNESDAY 10th JULY
10:00am - 11:30am: Kids Illustration Workshop. Location: Opposite Omnicom Media Group Australia on Locomotive Street.
Hosted by Jade Goodwin and Emma Sjaan Beukers, this workshop is all about letting your little one's creativity flourish!

12:30pm - 1:30pm: Founders Chat Space hosted by Travis De Vries. Location: Work Club Locomotive.
Join Travis De Vries who has curated this year's South Eveleigh NAIDOC activations to hear the story behind Awesome Black: from founding a First Nations Creative Agency from a spare room in Muswellbrook to opening a Creative Hub in Erskineville. Big wins and big challenges, this is a personal story with an open ending.
12:30pm - 1:30pm: Unlocking Your Creativity Workshop. Location: Opposite Omnicom Media Group Australia on Locomotive Street
Hosted by First Nations illustrator Jade Goodwin, this workshop is designed to help grown ups tap into their inner child, remove the blocks and baggage of adulthood and create with abandon and delight!
THURSDAY 11th JULY

12:00pm - 12:40pm: Founders Chat Space with Jake Duczynski from Studio Gilay. Location: Omnicom Media Group Australia.
Hosted by Awesome Black's Head of Gaming, Ben Armstrong, join Studio Gilay's Jake Duczynski for an intimate chat about how this half-Indigenous-owned production company has built a reputation for honest and design driven storytelling, working with big names like the ABC, Stan, Vivid, Netflix and more.
12:30pm - 1:30pm: Storytelling Workshop: A First Nations Framework with Akala Newman. Location: Village Square.
The Hero's Journey has long been a framework for corporate storytelling particularly around how leaders can illustrate the challenges and triumphs of the corporate world in a way that resonates deeply with teams. In terms of First Nations storytelling framework and contemporary team dynamics the Hero's Journey can feel outdate and individualistic - Akala Newman takes us through an alternative modality of storytelling that centres the needs of team in a communal way.
