This NAIDOC Week Karrinyup Shopping Centre will celebrate the history culture and achievements of First Nations Peoples by creating a platform for Aboriginal artists cooks and creatives to showcase their talents through meaningful and immersive experiences throughout the centre.
Shoppers can experience a diverse array of NAIDOC activities and displays including premiering artwork exhibitions bush tucker sampling basket weaving painting workshops and educational displays.
The week long activities include:

Join Wardandi Bibbulmun woman Dale for a delicious Bush Tucker tasting journey as she shares sweet and savoury bush tucker dishes traditional recipes and how to use native ingredients.

Basket Weaving workshops with Emma-Jane Hunt | 3/7/9 July | The Loop ground floor near Cotton On Mega
Shoppers can participate in creating beautiful hand-woven baskets using traditional methods with Yindjibarndi and Djaru woman Emma-Jane who is passionate about keeping weaving as a cultural practice alive.

Painting Workshops with Djurandi Dreaming | 4 - 8 July | The Loop ground floor near Cotton On Mega
From 11am to 2pm Aboriginal art company Djurandi Dreaming will be hosting painting workshops where families can learn traditional painting methods using eucalyptus leaves as canvases.
Premiering artwork by Joan Martin | 3-10 July | Karrinyup’s West Deck
Throughout the week the West Deck projection screens will be covered with stories of spiritual connection with never-before-seen artworks by highly respected Karrinyup Elder Joan Martin and digital animations by Sam Price.
