Each meeting begins with industry announcements where various castings, crew calls, and industry events are pitched. Next, in the fireside chat, the inspires the group by sharing their insights into industry trends.
Renée Brack
Renée holds a Master of Creative Arts from the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) in documentary and VR and a Bachelor of Arts from Macquarie University in screen and media studies. She is an acclaimed storyteller, journalist, writer, and screen professional with over 20 years’ experience in film, TV, print, and digital.
Renée has written, produced, and directed short films; wrote and directed plays for the world’s largest play festival Short+Sweet; pioneered research into a scripting template for immersive content (VR, cinematic VR, and 360); and wrote the award-winning short film Red Handed which has screened in multiple international film festivals.
Recent work includes the award-winning feature documentary about art, dementia, and staying connected to people we love living with a diagnosis. Renée has a development slate of female-centric stories for screen as well as some eclectic male-skewed stories to rattle the status quo. Her book is on sale now and a dark comic mystery novel is due for publication soon.
Renée’s PhD explores the emergence of the social impact producer as a contemporary crew role charting alternative pathways to funding and audience.
