Participants will learn to promote and implement emotional intelligence in the early childhood environment. We will discuss how to use the NAEYC Mood Meter to help the children enhance their emotional intelligence. In addition, we will learn how emotional intelligence is a set of skills associated with monitoring one’s own and others’ emotions, and the ability to use emotions to guide one’s thinking and actions. We will go over how emotions can impact our attention, memory, and learning; our ability to build relationships with others; and our physical and mental health. Lastly, reveal that developing emotional intelligence can enable children to manage emotions effectively.
