For my directs (if you signed up with me)--if this is your first time, I will make your card for you--all you have to do is show up!
Here's a quick explanation of a shoebox swap (thanks to Carla!):
What is a Shoebox Swap?
A lot of fun and sharing of creativity!
Each person attending designs and makes a card, this can be “cased” (copy and share everything) or an original design. You can share a simple card, a technique, or a fun fold. It is up to you!
Once you have made your card and we have a count as to how many are coming…You will prepare the supplies for EACH person to make your card. Example: If there are 10 people coming you will prepare enough supplies for 9 cards (yours will already be complete). If you are using die cuts or embossing folders, please do those ahead of time for each person, this will save a lot of time and allow us more time for the actual making of the cards. All supplies, (paper, stamps, ink, embellishments etc.) AND YOUR CARD is then placed in a “shoebox” or any box roughly that size. When we meet, each person will give brief instructions for their card and we will get busy visiting and creating! The shoeboxes will be passed around the table until each person has completed each of the cards. In the above example, each person will go home with 10 cards (including their own). It is a great way to get new ideas, be reminded of techniques we may have forgotten, or learn something new!
One thing is for sure, with a Shoebox Swap everyone has a great time!
