Méabh’s Little Light Concert
Join us for Méabh’s Little Light Concert, an evening of music in aid of Féileacáin and A Little Lifetime Foundation.
The night will be filled with tunes and songs from multi-instrumentalist Mark Redmond, renowned singer Tony Carty, and local trad group Le Céilí, with other acts to be announced. Baby loss is a subject close to the hearts of a number of the performers, who come together on the night to raise awareness of an issue that resonates with so many, yet is often considered taboo in Ireland.
Our daughter Méabh was stillborn on 15th March 2025. In honour of her first birthday, we have organised an evening of music to raise vital funds for the infant and pregnancy loss charities Féileacáin and A Little Lifetime Foundation.
These charities offer vital supports to parents and families following the loss of their precious baby. From the memory box provided in hospital, where treasured memories such as moulds of hands and feet are captured, to counselling and support groups in the months and years following a family’s loss, these charities provide truly priceless support.
We were provided with the use of a cuddle cot, which we used for four days prior to Méabh’s burial. This cot was donated to the hospital by the family of a little girl called Megan and during those days, we were able to capture precious memories and family photographs, taking in every inch of Méabh's beauty, ten tiny fingers and ten tiny toes. Without the guidance and tools these charities provide, we are not sure where we would be today. Please join us in raising vital funds to support the mams and dads of these precious babies.
Music has always been a huge part of my life, and in the early days following Méabh’s birth, it helped me get out of the house and socialise while waiting for the all-clear to return to some of my more physical hobbies and because of that, it feels especially fitting to host a fundraising concert.
During a group meeting with A Little Lifetime Foundation, I met a wonderful volunteer, Bríd, who described her son Liam as “the light of her life” and from this, she inspired the name Méabh’s Little Light.
