What if the normalized happenings in modern society were a more urgent threat? What if allowing your child to consume media couldn't be considered harmless. What if the conspiracy theories about secret societies and cabals within America were known truths. How about a world in which your lack of companionship leaves you vulnerable to a predatorial spirit. Or maybe a shape-shifting demon that only hunts those who are in love. Mänˈsträsədē is meant to depict the physical manifestations of these horrific and pervasive happenings within the current era. This series is a call to action. We cannot let these creatures have their way with us. We must stay vigilant and do what's necessary to maintain our humanity.About the Artist:
Charles the Artist emerged in Shreveport, Louisiana, only a few years ago. They were born from a desire to separate the art from the artist. As an anti-personality, they function solely as a bridge between the artwork and the artist's intentions. The masquerade is not about anonymity; rather, its purpose is to create a blank slate for the audience. They want people to experience their artwork without the preconceived notions shaped by the artist’s identity. The Artist work does not reflect personal opinions; instead, it aims to reveal objective truths found in society. By removing the artist tangible identity from the equation, the audience is given a unique opportunity to evaluate the art without being influenced by another set of biased perspectives. The only identity they need you to know is that they are black in America.
