👉Mó Kamba is an Angolan slang meaning “my friend” or “my partner”. It has been adopted from the word “di-Kamba” from the Kimbundu language. Kimbundu is a Bantu language spoken around Luanda, Angola’s capital.
Our monthly parties are exactly that, a night of friendship to celebrate with your family/friends and/or make new ones👈

This month we have with us ELISHA & MISS GINGA BOO and DJ GERSON VAN for a especial PARTY and UK OPEN COMPETITION as we team up with Ginga Boo UK to run this Regional qualifying heat for the South West England. Other qualifying heats will take place in cities across the United Kingdom from March to June 2025 & Grand Final in London Sat 27th Sept 2025.

**Elisha🇬🇧🇺🇬 & Miss Ginga Boo🇫🇷🇨🇻**
For those who don’t know, Sonny Varela aka Miss Ginga Boo, French born originally from Cape Verde, grew up dancing Passada, Funana, Kuduro, Mazurka, Coupe Decale, and Ndombolo.
Sonny was the UK Kizomba Champion 2015-16 and 3rd World Kizomba Champions at AfricAdancar International Kizomba competition with her then dancer partner Jeydikson Lima.
She has been dancing Kizomba/ Passada since an early age and teaching for over 12 years. Her Kizomba philosophy is that “Kizomba is like having a conversation with two connected bodies, ‘he’ communicates the movements, ‘she’ listens and replies”.
8 years ago she set up SVPromotions now called Ginga Boo UK events bringing the most famous teachers to the UK for workshops, classes, mini festivals like MORABEZA focused on Kizomba / Semba 2-4th Jan 2026 and the famous Ginga Boo UK Kizomba Festival in Milton Keynes. A renowned 3 day event 6-9th June 2025 to bring the dance community together, by focusing on Kizomba, Urban Kiz, Semba, Tarraxo, Afrohouse and more…!
She also runs the famous Criola events, not only in London but across the UK and La Femme London focusing on elevating dancing and building confidence.
Elisha Sevvume (born in the UK, originally from Uganda) started his kizomba dance journey 6 years ago. He was passionate about the dance and took time to learn with reputable teachers such as Nino, Sol, Jeydikson, and many more. During this time, he participated in numerous group performances with the Kizomba Next Level Team and represented the UK in the Kizomba Open Spain 2018.
In 2021 he started working with Miss Ginga Boo on different projects, choreography, dancing challenges, online training etc.. His self-evident passion led him to partner up with Miss Ginga Boo, and they now travel across the UK and beyond, teaching & sharing their passion for dancing.

**DJ Gerson Van🇦🇴**
Born in Luanda, Angola, the charming birthplace of Kizomba, in the early 1980s.
His journey took him to Portugal in the 1990s, where he embraced and honed his passion for music.
Today, DJ Gerson Van is a distinguished presence in the UK Kizomba and Latin scene. He offers audiences a rich tapestry of sounds, including the smooth, sultry rhythms of Kizomba, the energetic beats of Semba, and the pulsating grooves of Afro-house and Afro-beat. His performances celebrate his Angolan heritage and bridge audiences to the vibrant culture he cherishes.
Known for his warm and approachable personality, Gerson effortlessly connects with crowds, creating an inviting and exhilarating atmosphere filled with positive energy and joy. Whether it’s a lively festival, an elegant wedding, or an intimate private party, he brings a unique flair that delights every attendee. With a dynamic musical palette featuring Kizomba, Ghetto Zouk, Tarraxinha, Semba, Afro-House, Dancehall, and Kuduro, DJ Gerson Van guarantees an unforgettable experience, ensuring that everyone leaves with a smile on their face and a rhythm in their heart.
