About this Event
For singers
Embark on a musical journey through the poetic and melodic world of French and Jewish-Spanish music and explore words in ancient languages. Born in France and of Sephardic heritage, the award-winning lead singer of MZAZA Pauline Maudy will facilitate an uplifting vocal workshop for beginners and experienced singers of all ages aimed at sharing technique and getting you singing quickly.
For instrumentalists
Learn a couple of Balkan and French tunes with MZAZA. Greta on violin, John on guitar, and Tsoof on percussion will facilitate a fun workshop on some of the unusual rhythms and ornaments of modal music. Bring along your instrument and a recording device if you like. We cater for both musicians who read music and those who prefer to learn by ear. This workshop is open to all levels and supported with videos, charts, sheet music and lots of humour.
