Journey to London, December 1843 — The air is cold, the lamps glow low, and at the end of a foggy lane stands the door of one Ebenezer Scrooge. After a sold-out performance last season, the Mystic Chamber Music Series returns with another candlelit holiday concert, inspired by Charles Dickens’ beloved tale, A Christmas Carol. This concert, we explore the story through the lens of classical music, following the emotional arc of the novella with works that evoke memory, reflection, and joy. At the heart of it all is Felix Mendelssohn, a friend of Dickens and a fellow traveler through the past, present, and future of the human spirit. Step into the story. Let the music guide you.
